Redditch’s U15’s junior rugby team is looking rather smart this season after securing sponsorship for new team shirts from local family business Oakland International.

Food distribution supply chain specialist, Oakland International, has a Foundation that is set up specifically to help reduce child poverty within the Redditch and Bromsgrove areas. The Oakland Foundation supports local youth initiatives based on Health and Nutrition, and Education and Sport.

Oakland International Business Project Co-ordinator and Foundation Trustee, Luke Attwell, said: “Oakland International is committed to supporting the local community and its young people, and we’re delighted to help our local U15 rugby team. We wish the team continued success for the season ahead.”

The U15 team is coached by Andy Hopwood and Laky Singh and train every Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and have thriving junior, youth and women’s teams.

Coach, Laky Singh commented: “Redditch Rugby Club is an integral part of the fabric and DNA of the local community and the U15’s team were delighted to secure kit sponsorship from Oakland International, via the Oakland Foundation who works closely with the club and supports the local community.

“The team have been playing together for a number of years and with the generous support of our new kit sponsor Oakland International the team was able to design and create their new shirts for the forthcoming season, which included full kit numbers and design. You could see the delight and pride on everyone’s faces when they were presented with their new kit.”
