Food and drink outsource sales management company, Go2Grocery have made a generous donation to the Oakland Foundation to help support their work in the local community.
Go2Grocery’s donation of 38 food cases contains 228 tins of scrummy French Madeleine cakes will go to help benefit families supported by the Redditch Foodbank.
Oakland International’s European Customer Support and Development Manager, Edith Hurst-Earl, explained: “We update customers daily on status and stock amounts held within our warehouse facilities, and it was following a stock report that Go2Grocery, due to the product’s nature and quantity, took the decision to donate all 38 cases of Madeleine cakes to the Oakland Foundation so they could be used to benefit the local community.
“We are extremely grateful to Go2Grocery for their generosity and to all our customers who continue to donate surplus food products to support the work of the Oakland Foundation.”
Located at Oakland International’s Redditch facility, the Redditch Food Bank’s warehouse resupplies the Foodbank Centres in the town on a weekly basis. The Foodbank’s warehouse volunteers sort all the donations destined for local families and ensure that the Centres can meet the continuing demand.
Go2Grocery’s Client Manager, David Heath, commented: “It is great to know quality products that are still perfectly fine to eat are not being wasted and instead are going to a good cause in the local community.”
