Oakland International has been confirmed as an accredited Worcestershire Works Well Workplace Scheme (WWW) Level One member and will receive their award on Thursday the 19th May at the Worcestershire Works Well bi-annual Awards in Kidderminster.

Oakland’s HR Director, Mr Cory Winstanley, said: “As a responsible family business we are delighted to be accredited by the Worcestershire Works Well Scheme, which is formal acknowledgement of Oakland’s positive approach of taking employee health and well-being seriously.”

The Worcestershire Works Well scheme is a partnership incorporating Worcestershire County Council, Worcestershire Regulatory Services, Hereford and Worcester Chamber of Commerce, Wellness Works and the Sports Partnership; a multi-agency partnership which is working to improve workplace health and well-being throughout Worcestershire.

Oakland International is recognised as a Top 100 Local Employer and ranked in the recent London Stock Exchange report (March 2016) as in the Top 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain.

Mr Winstanley added: “This is the first of three levels of accreditation we can attain through the WWW scheme, and with so many adults spending substantial amounts of their daily lives in the workplace, it’s is up to us as employers to take an active role in helping improve the health and well-being of our workforce, as improved health makes people content, encourages exercise and increases willingness to contribute to the local community. It even stimulates an individual’s readiness to engage and get involved in workplace initiatives and activities.”

Offering multi temperature supply chain solutions, consolidation, contract packing and value added services, Oakland International supplies the UK and Irish retail, discount, convenience and wholesale markets from their UK and Ireland based facilities.
