Project Manager Maryam Ghafoor has achieved the highly respected Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt qualification, underlining the company’s commitment to developing talent and future leaders from within.
Having joined Oakland in September 2024, Maryam completed the qualification while continuing to manage operational responsibilities. The programme covered advanced statistical analysis, process improvement, project delivery and leadership development.
Maryam said: “Achieving Master Black Belt is a significant professional milestone. It has strengthened my analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills, enabling me to deliver meaningful improvements and contribute to Oakland’s continued growth.”
As part of her studies, Maryam led projects focused on improving line efficiency, packaging quality, staffing optimisation, cost reduction and 5S implementation, delivering measurable operational benefits across the business.
Operations Director Jamie Robinson said: “This is an outstanding achievement and a testament to Maryam’s dedication, ambition and commitment to continuous improvement. Since joining Oakland, she has made a significant impact through projects that have enhanced operational performance and quality standards. We are incredibly proud of her success and look forward to supporting her continued development within the business.”
Now a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Maryam plans to lead larger cross-functional improvement projects, mentor colleagues and help drive further operational efficiencies across the organisation.
