Proud to be a Certified B Corporation
What B Corp Certification Means
In 2023, Oakland International proudly became a Certified B Corporation (B Corp), joining a global community of businesses committed to doing better for people and the planet.
B Corp Certification is awarded by the non-profit organisation B Lab, who are leading a global movement to transform the economy, so it works not just for profit, but for people, communities and the environment.
Today, more than 10,300 B Corps worldwide are redefining what responsible business looks like. Rather than focusing solely on financial performance, B Corps share a belief that long-term success means balancing profit with purpose.
Our Driving Force
At Oakland International, we believe we have always been, and will continue to be, a force for good. With our roots firmly in agricultural farming and a long-standing commitment to responsible business, becoming a Certified B Corporation felt like a natural next step in our journey.
Guided by our vision of being a responsible, family-owned enterprise, we focus on delivering sustainable growth through partnership, collaboration and innovation, underpinned by strong environmental and social values. B Corp Certification formalises what has long driven us as a business.
The Certification Process
Becoming a Certified B Corporation is not a tick-box exercise. In 2023, Oakland International completed a rigorous independent assessment evaluating our performance, accountability and transparency across five key impact areas.
• Workers
• Environment
• Community
• Governance
• Customers
To achieve B Corp Certification, businesses must score a minimum of 80 points across these areas. We are proud to have achieved a score of 84.6, reflecting our commitment to people, planet and profit, in that order.

What’s Next in Our B Corp Journey
Earing the ‘B’ is not the end of our journey, it’s just the beginning. In 2027, Oakland International will recertify under the new and more demanding B Corp standards.
The updated framework requires businesses to meet minimum scores across seven expanded impact areas and to demonstrate measurable progress in each one at every recertification. It’s a more rigorous process, designed to drive meaningful and continual improvement.
