Site Facilities Engineer
Location: Seafield Lane, Redditch B98 9DB
£38,000 a year – Permanent, Full-time
We are recruiting for a Site Facilities Engineer within our Food distribution business in Redditch. The ideal recruit will be responsible for management of the machinery on site, with specific attention on packing equipment, ensuring that it is operating in an efficient and effective manner. Ensuring the equipment is operating to optimum levels and supporting Operations with preventative and reactive maintenance of the equipment, whilst adhering to company policies and procedures
Responsibilities of the Role
- To Support Operational teams with mechanical equipment via training to ensure the proper and most efficient methods/techniques/tools are being utilised.
- · Responsible for understanding, communicating and driving the department key performance indicators.
- · To identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and service. Including a commitment to planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and troubleshooting.
- · To work with internal and external stakeholders to prioritise according to business requirements.
- Developing relevant systems for routine maintenance of equipment.
- To maintain, improve and manage a safe working environment including the timely completion of accident investigations and any actions required. Ensuring that team members are fully aware and comply with all Health and Safety standards, company and legal requirements. E.g. COSHH, HACCP, MHE compliance.
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting of non-compliance instances with third parties.
- ·Lead and contribute to discussions within department, company, customers and suppliers to solve problems and make decisions.
- Obtain, evaluate and where applicable develop methods of producing information to aid decision making.
- Inventory management of all spare parts and user manual guides for all equipment on site.
- To participate fully in the Company’s Personal Performance and Development process and to undertake training and development relevant to your job.
Experience Required
- Understanding of all processing equipment as well as inspection and reporting of maintenance and repair needs as they arise.
- Previous Experience with maintenance management of industrial equipment
- ·Experience in a multi-skilled engineering role
- Sound knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
- Clear understanding of systems to ensure food safety and environmental compliance
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with an initiative-taking approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- A practical understanding of Open Food Production
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).
- Can identify and reduce process steps to improve productivity and/or accuracy.
- Keen and motivated to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
